Variable suggestive factors
aside, I really like the concept of this drawing, since it apparently
shows what I was thinking about at the time. As a matter of fact,
as I recall, I got paid for my first commission job shortly before
doing the line work for this piece, but the coloring came months
later. When I was originally drawing this piece, I was thinking
about making the most whacked out, yet cute and logically sound
hair ornament for Xyni as I possibly could, and came up with the
idea of a price tag. Of course, just a price tag alone wouldn't
do the trick, I had to also put some bling whales into her hair,
various currency symbols, and a hand washable tag, although it's
partially covered up, it might actually say "Machine Washable",
you just have to look closely, but really, which one would you
prefer it to say?
To the casual observer, this drawing might seem to be
pretty normal, for my standards anyway, but I put one mistake
in it, that I only noticed much later. If you want to have a little
fun, try to notice it before moving on the next paragraph. I'm
not referring to the fact that Xynthica's on sale, nor the fact
that she's cheap, nor the fact that one sleeve is missing, that
bit was completely intentional. Gee, now that I think about it,
I sure did make a bunch of interpretable mistakes in this piece.
Okay kiddies! If you didn't notice this, that's fine,
it's human, and humans often have better things to do. If you
did notice the mistake, then consider yourself super humanly observant.
Discount Xynthica is labeled as being 0.99 of a cent, not 0.99
of a dollar, in other words, that's below anything you can find
in a spare change bin, she's apparently worth less than a single
penny! Ah, but you see, I'm great at making excuses for big glaring
mistakes! That's a natural talent that evolves with being an artist,
so I'm going to make up a lie on the spot to as why I made that
mistake. You see, Xynthica's a piece of intellectual property,
along with being the mascot of my "company" with the
same name, and where in the world do you ever see fractions of
a cent being uses? Why, in the stock market of course! So for
now, although my "Company" might be worth slightly less
than a shambling cent per share, someday it'll be marginally more!
Okay, I really have no idea how the stock market works, but I
figured that if I sound like I know what I'm talking about, everybody
else in the world that's clueless about the stock market will
think I know. |
