This is Hara of the legendary Suicidal Americanime Sisters! Wow, for such a morbid title, it seems that their one way ticket exploits sure got a fair deal of attention, perhaps that is the reason why I have dedicated an exceptionally large amount of time to them. For those who aren't acquainted, the really short version of the story is that since Hara and her sister Kiri are actually American cartoon derivatives instead of anime, they can't actually die, so basically, although their goal in life is to end their life, it is pretty much impossible for them to do so. Of course, like any spirited youngest, impossible is generally not a word in their vocabulary.

The funny thing is that for the longest time, I had a hard time determining what color schemes Hara and Kiri would use. I drew them in black in white several times, but when I finally got down to coloring, you could see the visual question mark over my head.

Originally, Hara was going to have red hair and black clothing, but I decided when I put them next to each other as a pair that Hara would work best if she had primarily cool colors and Kiri had warm colors. Often in art, if you look at just one thing, you might miss the big picture like that, I think it's a metaphor for life as well, and it should be a wake up call for me to stop being so obsessively compulsive when cleaning up my line work, which I have to admit, tends take me a bit longer than I would like.
