I did this drawing as my first thing when I returned to Vancouver from my hometown Vernon on one faithful trip. It looked pretty at the time, but in retrospect, her right leg should have been further out and carried more weight distribution and the right arm is uncomfortable too.

I sure did a lot of drawings like this at the time. Of course, not every drawing is a success. Sometimes, an artist gets intimidated to try new things and stick to the old, because the potential for screwing up is minimal, but if you do not do try new things, your talent will erode.

I decided after this picture to try doing a lot more practical poses. The human body in action is perhaps the most difficult thing to draw well consistently, even more so when you are trying to get maximum effect with minimum line mileage, as is show in gesture drawings and such. I hope the manga projects that I am working on now will help to expand my versatility at drawing different situations.
