Xynipedia

I often have considered that I usually think so much about my fictional worlds, that when I talk about them naturally, people draw as many blanks as a fixed oriental lottery in the spring time, so I decided to make a makeshift guild to the Xyniverse! In any case, I hope to get some images here sometime soon to help alleviate the heavy text, I don' even I could read this entire thing straight in one sitting, for the time being, it's purely for reference.

The Prologue:

In the beginning, as lies told to children sometimes go, there was the Creator and the Destroyer. The Creator made stuff, and the Destroyer blew stuff up, that's about the sum of it. Now, you'd think that being opposites would have made them natural mortal enemies, but the truth is that they ignored each other for the better part of unwritten history. The Creator naturally assumed that things decayed to make room for change and improvement, and the Destroyer accepted that existence would always grow and take form on it's own no matter how many times you obliterated it, as destruction often has unintentional side effect of creating something else.

One day, the Creator and the Destroyer finally realized that there was "another" in the universe that they thought they had created on their own. Their acknowledgment of each other lead to a fierce rivalry, as well as the curse of emotions, ambition and self conscientiousness. Normally, this would be a bad thing, having the universe get it's face rearranged every other day, but since there wasn't anyone else around at the time, nobody really had any complaints. Ironically, it was their conflict that lead to the creation of sentient life, done by dividing their own Sources of Creation and Destruction into lesser sources with the Creator rendering life that could survive on its own despite incredible adversity, and the Destroyer setting up the elements of the dangerous game of life itself that could defeat even the most willful of beings. Both playing a bitter game where the forges of life and death were always burning.

On one speck of inflowing time, the Destroyer experienced an emotion that she had never felt before. She got fricken' pissed off. Screaming at the Creator's general direction, she challenged him to get his immortal ass down to the horribly boring universe that they had mashed together and duke it out in whatever form they chose, seeing as how it's not very easy to kill something that's omnipresent. Anyway, long story short, they had a hell of a time recognizing each other, and accidentally fell in love before realizing it. Now, normally mortal love is something that the Destroyer and the Creator wouldn't be able to feel, but they felt it on that day and decided to get hitched after the fact. However since getting married hadn't been an established tradition yet, they decided to beat the crap out of each other instead to decide who gets to keep their last name, before realizing that they didn't even have first names yet.

Naturally being the women at a wedding, the Destroyer beat the crap out of the Creator, and they got hitched. Of course, the Creator got back at her by knocking her up a couple dozen times that night. The next day, the Destroyer experienced another new feeling -- morning sickness. Yup kiddies, the impossible happened, the Destroyer, who happened to destroy things for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the midnight snack actually got pregnant. Unfortunately, that didn't sit too well with oh... the fabric of the very universe, being a fundamentally impossible paradox and everything, so the multiple universes began to condense and collapse into a single existence as the turds went through the paper shredder and landed on the other side as one big pile of abstract dog crap.

Like any mortal man, the Creator didn't want to take any responsibility for the apparent disaster, oh, and the baby either, and in a divorce ceremony surprisingly similar to the marriage one, he dumped her and took off for higher ground the very next day, never to return. Shortly after, the Destroyer gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, however, it had seemed that instead of obtaining either the Source of Creation from her father or the Source of Destruction from her mother, the two sources had completely canceled each other out and this innocent child was left with no Source at all. Knowing that a being without a Source would shortly die, the Destroyer did the unthinkable, she became a mother for the last remaining years of her life, desperately dedicating all that she had in hopes of keeping her precious daughter, the only thing she had ever achieved out of love instead of hate, alive for just one more day at a time. It seems that despite surviving such things as exceptionally large planets crashing into her, the vacuum of a black hole or two, and an antimatter blast the size of a sun with relative ease, the thing that finally killed the Destroyer of all things were the injuries she sustained during labor, leaving her young daughter all alone by herself in the silent contrails of existence.

The Destroyer, later to be known in history as Gity Amaranis whispered to her beloved daughter softly with her last breath, "Before there were happy endings... there were only sad beginnings. No matter how short it is, no matter how hard it becomes, no matter how much you wish things could have been different, live your life to the fullest, so that someday, when you turn the last page of life and see the end, you'll want to read the book again and know that you could have written it countless times... and know that you could have never made it as good as you had it then." With those last words, Gity, no longer the Destroyer but a proud mother of one had passed away, but not before giving her daughter one last gift... a name.

(Naturally, the later half of this story was excluded from all holy books related to the Creator or the Destroyer -- nobody wants to worship a god or goddess that makes mistakes)

About Xynthica

Xynthica is the story about a very unfortunate little girl's adventures in a perpetually messed up world where "What if" is the only common denominator in between all the "What in the Hell!?" that goes on, and her unique experiences in the face of those who wield power and those who wield purpose. Then again, good luck with that. Xyni's quite officially the most screwed up person in the entire story, and the way she sees the world is about equivalent to a drunk poodle on sixteen shots of vodka in the spring time. So by some random incarnation of chance or another, she may or may not live her life to the fullest, or she might just accidentally cause another Apocalyptic war, which isn't exactly hard to do in the Xyniverse.

Episodes

There are three episodes planned in the Xynthica Saga currently:

Xynthica: As Lies Told To Children

A story that takes place before Xynthica's birth with Gity and Zephos and their rather catastrophic train wreck of a relationship, as well as the the creation of the Xyniverse and early stories about other main characters.

Xynthica: Before There Were Happy Endings

Taking place shortly after Xyni was born when she is accidentally summoned for the first time in the middle of a very one sided battle at a tender young age, only to hide behind various shrubbery as she dodges the daily forecast of small to medium sized meteors. Xynthica leaves the comfort of her home, a planet ten meters in diameter nonetheless, and takes a crash course for the evil impaired under Zephos, but not before being ran over by the dump truck of reality. Can she live in a world where the class of your innate born source determines everything while having no Source of her own? Xyni is going to need some help from trustworthy friends, but love is hard when your friends are evil.

Xynthica: Goddess of In Between Jobs

After sustaining a horrible injury from being betrayed by a close friend and losing her talent in technology that had carried her so far in substitution of a source, Xyni has given up her dreams of becoming a Raver and finds herself several hundreds of years in the future where her previous life is all but a memory. Her spirit broken and living on borrowed time, Xynthica wants to live her remaining young years in peace, believing that there is no purpose to life. However, a reunion with her beloved giant, mutant, killer snail Kibsy sparks her passion for life again, and together, they carry out the promise they made so long ago, in a chaotic, hell bent, anything goes Apocalypse for sale fashion that Xynthica has become famous for.

The Themes Of Xynthica

The Xynthica Saga takes place in a completely fictional existence, but my ultimate goal for it was to get people thinking while enjoying some good entertainment at the same time, as a result, that which could never really be in real life, is often the normal in the Xyniverse. One of the main themes in the Xynthica Saga is the responsibility one has with power and purpose, more accurately, how to be a good goddess, have good followers, and get good seats at a baseball game. I like to ask as many questions as possible about the meaning of the universe, and other "useless crap" quite often, but I'm a writer and an artist, not a philosopher or a priest. Some of the examples of the themes present in the Xynthica Saga are the dangers and benefits of ideals and belief, the difference between being a god and and being an entity with unlimited power, the embracement of contrast and change, and power over purpose. These have real life relevance in some remote way or another, but questions have the habit of of often making people question themselves, but often when they don't really know the answer, they get become angry or doubtful. With that being said, the world of Xynthica is purely hypothetical fiction staged in a completely different reality. I barely know how to bake a cake, let alone know the meaning of the universe, but I like to ask questions, so questions I ask.

The World

The Xyniverse:

The Xyniverse is the world in which Xynthica and many of the other series take place in. What separates it from an ordinary universe, is that it is condensed and has it's own set of rules that are completely different from our reality... that and everything is on crack and steroids at the same time.

In essence, the Xyniverse is an error, a setting that was never suppose to exist, but due to a paradox happening at the root level of existence, parallel dimensions and different eras in time were condensed into a single layer of reality. When the merge occurred, only the strongest beings and structures were retained, as such, a great deal of the Xyniverse is a mishmash of various ruined parallel realities. The Xyniverse is static and doesn't expand or contract, but consists of three parts, the Nadir, the Zenith and the Axiom.

Nadir:The outer edge of the Xyniverse where most of the population lives, for the most part, the galaxies are habitable, and civilization is established.

Zenith: A very scary place to be, the Zenith is where the vast majority of things that can kill you in a blink of an eye exist. To exist within the Zenith itself requires that you have a third class source or above, or else you wouldn't be existing very long.

Axiom: Known as the core of the Xyniverse, the Axiom is everywhere and nowhere simultaneously and exists beyond time. It is the unseen and undetected fabric that holds the Xyniverse together, and it appears differently to everyone who is actually able to enter it. Also, the true forms of beings are revealed in the Axiom, as opposed to the humanoid ones that almost everyone takes.

The Population:

After the disaster that created the Xyniverse, there were exactly 65814 intelligent life forms left. That is extremely little given the size of the Xyniverse, which although much smaller than our universe, is still very big.

The basic theory is that only the strongest of any given race before the Xyniverse was formed, as such, there is an extremely wide variety or species in the Xyniverse, it is extremely rare that you will two people of the same race. As such, race isn't really a factor in the Xyniverse, since everyone has a different one, rather Source Type is the big factor.

Although most people travel around in humanoid form for convenience, almost everyone has an alternate true form that they can revert to, sometimes ones that are as large as a small planet. Unfortunately, due to racial differences, reproduction is also very rare, and the birth rate in the Xyniverse is practically nonexistent. As a side note, almost everyone in the Xyniverse save exactly one person has a life span that ranges over a thousand "Earth Years" and possesses supernatural powers stemming from their innate Source. When a person dies in the Xyniverse, their source is essentially recycled in the next life, similar to reincarnation. However, in the Xyniverse, it seems that the memories stay intact after death and rebirth if the source is strong enough.

Gender Roles:

Although the gender allocation of the Xyniverse is roughly equal, in circles of power, it seems that there are naturally more women, granted there are plenty of androgynous races in between. In the Xyniverse, women start off more naturally gifted at utilization destructive source powers, whereas men are better at creation powers. With enough training, roles have been frequently reversed, but since women tend to be the at the forefronts of battle, they are frequently more prominent in the Xyniverse than the men. This tradition stems from the "Destroyer" originally choosing a female form, while the "Creator" chose a male one, and so the world they created reflected their nature.

Society:

Since the population of the Xyniverse is very small, establishing any single given figure of authority has become very difficult, especially since a first or second class source user can issue a can of ass whooping whenever they please, far outweighing numbers with power. In terms of law enforcement, there is no official universal police or even a common law. The closest thing to authority are the "Two Houses" and the Reapers they deploy. Reapers work as judge, jury and executioner, but in the case that any given creature survives their justice, they often try to recruit them to the join their respected House. The Two Houses themselves have wield a great deal of power, but usually ignores anybody who doesn't play a direct role in their conflict with each other, and are pretty much anarchists to begin with. Some independent planets have laws, but that's about the size of it, the basic rule in the Xyniverse is that if you can get away with it, then it's not wrong.

Formal education is extremely sparse, primarily limited to Source Schools. Basically, the Xyniverse is a wild and anything goes. Many people learn from experience and self training, as a result of this though, there are some people with very interesting abilities. The Two Houses also offer intense training to promising candidates, but in order to become one, you must already be a very influential and power entity with a high class source.

Time Standards:

Since Earth doesn't exactly exist in the Xyniverse, the count of years is not exactly the same as we would know it on Earth. As to whether they are actually longer or shorter is a mystery that I am intentionally not revealing, as it is an important factor to the story. Most planets in the Xyniverse actually have six seasons, along with ones that are similar to spring, summer, fall and winter, there are is also avin and ternal. Avin is a time after spring where giant bubbles of energy are known to float through the sky, often established as a season of holidays and relaxation, whereas ternal is a time when the planet becomes extremely hostile with temperatures reaching new highs a lows between night and day, located after winter.

As an additional note, there are two ca lenders in the Xyniverse, BX and AX, respectively Before Xyniverse and After Xyniverse.

Holidays:

There are only five known holidays in the Xyniverse at the outset of the story:

Happy Feminine Vengeance Day: A day when the women of the Xyniverse get to relieve all the built up anger and fury and unleash it in the general direction of their male counterparts. Although men have come to accept this as a natural part of female biology, it's actually just a big conspiracy, since a good deal of the women are just acting instead of being forced by mother nature to be hostile.

Marry Male Sensitivity Day: The one day of the year when men can let go of their inner child and not be thought of as compete pussies. I really don't have to say more than that.

End of the World Day: Once every day of the year, the world breaks into an Apocalyptic kill all you can see festival. It's generally a good day to die, if you happen to not to have any other plans. It should be noted that "End of the World Day" was not originally the name of this holiday, most obviously. Originally, it was a day to celebrate the Raver of which you worship, unfortunately, slightly gaping differences in religion kinda' led to a little bit of overkill warfare on this day, so it's original meaning has been slightly modified to encompass beating the turds out of the heathen bastards in your life.

Beginning Day: A holiday used to celebrate the start of the Xyniverse, although whether it is accurate or not is besides the point. It is the one of the few peaceful holidays universally celebrated in the Xyniverse, and also doubles as a new year. On this holiday, it is tradition for the women to beat the men in their lives into a bloody pulp. Hey this is about as peaceful as it gets in the Xyniverse.

Try Not To Kill Things Day: Although not celebrated universally, "Try Not To Kill Things Day" is the one day of the year, where people actually try not to kill things... surprisingly difficult in the Xyniverse. It is often thought of as a romantic day where you can get a date with a cute girl without fear of leaving this mortal coil.

Source:

Source is the track of destiny that any given creature or object will travel upon from birth to death to the next life, and from birth to death again in a never ending cycle of existence and nonexistence. In many senses, it is a soul, but also determines abilities and characteristics, and the entire outcome of a person's life is determined by it from the start.

For the most part, Source is unalterable, cannot be created and cannot be destroy, and having one is a requirement for existing itself. Not having a source is pretty much the same as being a figment of imagination.

Sources are arranged by classes and like a stream of colored water, divide and dilute as they travel down. In terms of content, all sources are equal, however, fifth class sources are far more diluted with contradicting factors than a pure first class source. As such, a person possessing one would have very limited power. The following are the source classes.

Source Class:

First Class: There are only two beings that possess first class sources in the Xyniverse, respectively Zephos and Gity. Having a first class source is essentially the same as being a god and allows for unlimited control and access to the Xyniverse, just as long as the other user with a First Class Source doesn't interfere or contradict, which happens pretty damn often. The two first class source types are Creation and Destruction and make up the base for everything in the Xyniverse. They are perpetually active, even when their users are not. Slightly after the creation of the Xyniverse however, Gity died, which through the balance off even further.

Second Class: There are four second class sources, Matter, Energy, Dimension and Spirit. Second class source holders are extremely powerful. They might not be the ultimate beings, but any given one of them can conveniently destroy a galaxy if there is no resistance. Some characters that possess second class sources are Sylis and Chymie. The fiercest battles usually occur between second class sourcers.

Third Class: There are sixteen third class sources. Third class source holders are extraordinarily powerful, and can take down solar systems down with relative ease when they revert to their true forms.

Fourth Class: Able to blow planets right out of orbit, fourth class users would have abused their powers a long time ago if they didn't have an undying fear of getting their asses kicked by the higher three ones.

Fifth Class: The normal as far as the world is concerned, although they have a descent amount of power for every day living, the majority of them don't dare try anything involving destruction, as the chances of any of the higher classes noticing is very high, and a very bad thing.

Sub Class: Anything at this level isn't worth considering, as they are either lowly animals or inanimate matter. With a completely diluted Source, they're role in existence is negligible.

Anti Class: An artificially created source, the anti class is an extremely diluted source that mixes in many other sources. In effect, an anti class acts as a blind spot that neutralizes the conduction of source powers. The most powerful anti class source is the perfectly mixed "Annihilator Source" that Alias possesses.

Xynthica Class: No Source at all, not even a trace. Only one being in the Xyniverse has this, and she's a very, very unfortunate one. How she is even still alive is a mystery all to it's own.

Sourcer Levels

Although frequently the power of a sourcer is directly proportional to the class of his or her, there are rare cases in which users have been known to far exceed their natural level of power. There are three levels of this:

Raiser: Anybody who can use source powers. Most people at least have limited telekinesis or telepathy ability. A little bit of training is required to be a Raiser, hence the school systems, but the Raiser class isn't a very big deal as far as power as concerned compared to the convenience it offers in every day life.

Reaver: A person trained in advanced source arts and who has also made a contract with a being that possesses a higher source in exchange for their loyalty. A Reaver is much more powerful than a Raiser, able to command powers not normally accessible to them. Reavers are often asked by their masters to help negotiate or suppress contradicting powers that might interfere.

Raver: A full blown, ass kicking source user. The Raver is a master of his or her powers and can even draw on the powers of people with lesser sources who have submitted their loyalty to them if their own over kill power just happens not to be enough to do the job. Ravers are commonly referred to as gods in a religious context, and their roles in existence accurately reflect them. Since the formation of the Xyniverse, only one Raver has ever been killed, and it wasn't in battle, so they are commonly believed to be immortal.

Source Powers

By drawing on the inner power of one's Source, any task from cooking to interplanetary warfare can be achieved. It is what people not accustom to the Xyniverse would often call "Magic". The higher class Sourcers have extremely concentrated powers, so although they might have very dramatic abilities, if they are not trained properly, sometimes, they can't do something as simple as boil a pot of water, yet proceed to thrash three planets in orbit the next day. All beings also have a certain resistance to source powers, so although having someone self implode might seem like a good idea, it wouldn't always work.

In general, any source power that involves an element from a higher class source will not work against any person who has that higher Source. For example, time magic, which is extremely effective on many occasions, has absolutely no effect on first and second class source holders.

As an additional note, source powers only work on other things that possess a source, but since virtually everything in the Xyniverse has one, no one really knows the difference.

Often, the key players in the Xyniverse have trademark abilities that they have used to carve their bloody path to success with, these are the most famous.

Zodiac Spire: Zephos' favorite attack in human form. Stars in surrounding galaxies all condense into one large clump of energy before imploding into one ridiculously large big bang, causing chain reaction like destruction, and coincidentally, creation. Obviously, this isn't an attack you use every day.

Eternal Void: Gity's trademark attack when she was living in human form, the Eternal Void quarantines existence from the variables of reality, effectively locking it in a static state which collapses onto itself and creates a rapidly expanding field of nonexistence that destroys anything it touches. The only way to cancel the attack is to for the variables of reality to be restored, but since the Eternal Void also cancels out the flow of time in existence, such a thing is easier said than done. Being essentially the Goddess of Destruction, Gity knows a thing or two about wholesale destruction, but apparently, it seems that this attack was never actually used, and that's probably why the Xyniverse hasn't imploded yet.

Last Call: Sylis' ultimate attack, the easy way of explaining the attack is that it releases an aura that separates the source from the body's of their holders, allowing for easy pickings after the fact.

Chrono Paradox: An attack developed by Chymie, it causes a disruption in a person's timeline, causing them to die instantly. The Chrono Paradox is an extremely powerful individual attack, however, it has the slight effect of altering the timeline on occasions and only works on third class sourcers and below.

Organizations

There are several powerful and prominent alliances in the Xyniverse, many of which fight for power and a bigger piece of pie.

About The Two Houses:

The super powers of the the Xyniverse are the two houses of Armageddon and Apocalypse, both have seven members that are more than capable of controlling the world if only the members of the other house would only drop dead. There is a system among the houses, where each of the seven members takes on a younger brother or sister who later might succeed them, on occasions, a member might even take two younger siblings at once, and have them fight to the finish to determined his or her successor. Although the two houses are arch enemies, they are usually at a stand still with each other.

House of Armageddon:

Sometimes referred to as Squid House or "House of the Seven Sins" based on the fact that their mascot is a squid and there are seven members of the group, each with a personality that seems to indulge in any given one of the seven deadly sins. The House of Armageddon is the group that Zephos, Sylis, Chimye, Slave Kitten are a part of, and it is also Xyni's home, despite her not officially being part of the group. The House of Armageddon has a reputation rotten to the core for having very little regard for the lives of people around them and are usually branded as the very definition of evil in the world, but it really depends on who you ask, since they also have a great deal of supporters who endorse their survival of the fittest mentality. In actuality, it seems that the Seven Sins are actually a pretty swell bunch, as all of their vices seem to have the rather odd and frequently hilarious consequence of neutralizing each other, ever since Xynthica joined as Zephos' younger sister.

House of Apocalypse:

Originally more powerful than the House of Armageddon with the symbol of serpent as their mark, the House of Apocalypse, often referred to as "House of the Seven Virtues" took a significantly large blow when their leader Gity mysteriously died, which should have been impossible, since she was bloody immortal. As a result, the morality and integrity of the group began to stagnate. Since Gity's leave, the Seven Virtues have had to take desperate measures to keep the balance between them and the House of Armageddon, often resulting in them taking underhand tactics, cheating, or sacrificing the lives of innocent bystanders in order to get what they want. As it stands, the House of Apocalypse is a former shadow of itself and desperately seeks a new leader or bust.

Kibsy House

Literally being a snail that doubles as a house, it is also known as the House of Amaranis or as most people know them, "Xyni and her mutant snail". Having divided from the House of Armageddon after a life shattering incident, the House of Amaranis is a one girl traveling performance troupe that also sells various wares and delivers letters around the Xyniverse while Xyni also takes a part time job as a summoned monster. However, later in the story, when the House of Armageddon and House of Apocalypse become corrupted and are on the verge of collapse, Snail House becomes quite the miniature hope of the future with members from both sides joining.

Reapers

Reapers are commonly believed to be the takers of the dead, but the truth in the Xyniverse is that they are summoned recruiters for the House of Armageddon and House of Apocalypse. Not everybody can see them, usually only people on the verge of death, but they exist to filter out the strong from the weak. If a person can survive through one of their preordained assaults and effectively cheat death, they will essentially be asked to join the House that the respected reaper is working for. Of course, if they resist, then it's fairly common that the reaper will try to kill them a second time.

Black Reapers

Black Reapers are quite monstrous in their nature, working under the forceful House of Armageddon in attempts to fatten their ranks. Since at the time Reapers were used, the House of Armageddon was very selective of it's candidates, they were known to often kill first and ask questions later to see who was still standing. The two Black Reapers are Mr. Smiles and the Broken Man.

White Reapers

White Reapers work for the House of Apocalypse. Since the House of Apocalypse began to suffer from a shortage of powerful members after the creation of the Xyniverse and slowly fall apart, the White Reapers often take on the forms of quite sexually attractive women in hopes of attracting potential recruits. Unlike the Black Reapers, the White Reapers are not quite as picky as the Black Reapers and don't follow the kill and sort policy, because they are a bit desperate to tell the truth. The Black Reapers and the White Reapers often compete for exceptional candidates, and it seems that they are roughly equal in terms of power. The two White Reapers are Kamikaze and Swarmee.

Heretics

A movement started by a legendary heroine often referred to as "The Empress" who fought against the Ravers using technology instead of Source Powers, the Heretics are often low class source users, but instead of relying on their Source, they rely on external devices, like nano machines, genetically engineered monsters, space ships and satellite beams to fight.

Since the beginning of the Xyniverse, people relied on their Source abilities to survive, and since they provided so much natural effectiveness, there was very little need to develop technological advancements. However, it is said that there once was a girl with a very weak source on the brink of death. Through the need to survive, she invented machines to aid her and became extremely successful, fully opposing both the House of Armageddon and the House of Apocalypse in an attempt to maintain the balance until she supposedly died from her weak constitution.

As it turns out, strong source powers actually get in the way of using technology and vice versa. In other words, people with low class sources can use technology better. Eventually, due to this train of thought, the Heretics were formed, and the girl was hailed as a hero. Ever since, the Heretics have hoped to overthrow the high class source users, who have reigned as gods in favor of equalization, however, there has yet to be a person as power as "The Empress" in the utilization of technology. It is the role of the Heretic to debunk, degrade and devaluate Ravers to a point where people are no longer afraid of them or respect them as gods.

Since the Heretic's warfare utilizes technology instead of source powers, they have been able to get a significant advantage over sourcers. You hear a lot about how Ravers have the power to blow bloody planets out of orbit for an afternoon activity, but this is only if there isn't a counter source or a higher source to neutralize or resist their abilities. In the Xyniverse, it is virtually guaranteed that any given source has a opposite source that balances it out in, because this is how the Xyniverse was designed, and since high class sourcers cover so much ground and the Xyniverse is suprisingly small, it's not as easy as it appears to be to get away with things. Technology on the other hand, was designed by people, and as such, no universal counter balance was every contrived, particularly since the Heretics hold this power almost exclusively. Technology also has the benefit of being extremely incapadible with source, so although strong source users may have difficult using them effectively, one ones don't.

The Heretics are a serious threat in the Xyniverse, but also span the voice of the weak and many people of the world who have been oppressed. Whether they are "evil" depends on where you are coming from. Ironically, they worship The Empress like a goddess themselves, despite claiming the abolishment of religion and have even adopted a super computer version of her that goes by the name "Alias" based on the technology she left behind before she supposedly passed away. Eventually, with their reign of technological power and Alias, the Heretics are actually able to topple the Houses of Armageddon and Apocalypse and abolish religion. At this points, things get really nasty.

Egos

The Egos are anomalies in existence that occur when many people believe in something that does not actually exist or their view of it is extremely inaccurate. In many cases, a distorted view about a person, particularly someone powerful like a Raver can become an independent entity and take on it's own form. There are many mysteries behind Egos, but one thing is clear, they are extremely powerful, often able to even fight with first and second class source holders on equal footing. It is actually believed that all of the Egos are linked together by a single individual, who creates and commands them, but to who this person might be is a mystery.

Monsters:

About The Three Legendary Monsters

There are three incredible monsters that are classified as the strongest naturally born creatures in the Xyniverse, (As opposed to those that are genetically created or who become powerful through training and experience) they are:

Amaranis Snails: Incredibly huge snails that have been known to grow as large as a small moon. It is theorized that their growth is directly proportional to how much love they receive in their lives. They are by far the most friendly of the three monsters, however they have an unsatisfiable hunger for just about anything, especially humanoids, and also have an incredibly strong draw to alcohol. The largest Amaranis Snail is history is Kibsy, Xyni's snail child who has been estimated to be the size approximately of the Sun in the Solar System (The one with Earth in it). Amaranis Snails also have virtually unbreakable shells, many times harder than diamond that can tolerate planet sized meteors crashing into them and antimatter blast, yet are amazingly light. The only way to destroy an Amaranis Snail's Shell is either melting it with the blood of an Amaranis Snail or cutting it with another Amaranis Shell. Xyni wields the ridiculously destructive Amaranis Blade that her "Parents" gave to her (Amaranis Snails). Amaranis Snails are also capable of releasing an extremely powerful antimatter blast of energy from their mouths capable of destroying planets relative to the size of the snail. Amaranis Snails also start out very small, you can fit one in the palm of your hand at birth. Xyni built her home inside Kibsy's shell for note. Xyni has also built multiple shells for Kibsy, including a hyper speed shell and a fortress tower shell. Amaranis Snails have no conscience, they eat when they are hungry, they sleep when they are tired and the bond with whoever is nice to them. This moral code or lack thereof is also Xyni's having been raised by them. Unfortunately, Amaranis Snails have a direct weakness to salt, and humans are very good at killing them. In Xyni's time, the Amaranis Snails are all but extinct.

Armageddon Squids: Incredibly large squids that like their Amaranis Snail enemies, start out very small. Unlike the Amaranis Snails, Armageddon Squids might be relatively smaller, but they are cunning, sneaking and very smart, capable of building huge vast technologically advanced empires that have various roles in war and social life. It should be stated that Armageddon Squids HATE humanoids and will kill and eat anything with two legs and two arms. What should be especially noted is the Armageddon Squid's infamous network of spies and mercenaries, the most famous being a small but extreme effective outpost known as Squid Force. Armageddon Squids attack frequently in groups and have mastered their hunting skills to perfection.

The most famous Armageddon Squid is Squi who has become the leader of Squid Force replacing Kraken. In Squi's earlier days, she was very small and an assassin given the job of killing the last of the Amaranis Snails, who more less or not was Xyni (Kibsy's existence was often hid well by Xyni for obvious protective reasons) who she pursued for 10 years of her life and constantly traumatized her and who traumatized Squi back. The two eventually developed a mutual friendship one point or another when Xyni turns out to have also double lived as a mermaid friend of theirs known as Vae the goldfish memory mermaid. They are by far the most plentiful of the 3 monsters, but will not fight well in a one on one battle. Oh yeah, it might be obvious, but they are not limited to living underwater, and are actually most at home in outer space and can go extremely fast. Armageddon Squids are capable of mutating into more powerful versions of themselves, however, the highest rank mutation is known as the "Command Class", which is capable of controlling all other squids under them... command class Armageddon Squids cannot be evolved into however, they must be born, and the occurrences of one are approximately one out of every ten thousand.

Apocalypse Serpents:In terms of raw power and variation, the Apocalypse Serpents are the most powerful of the three creatures. At an early point in a Apocalypse Serpents life, they mutate into a much stronger form that can vary depending on the environment they are raised in and their primary diet. Although there are few, they are VERY powerful, and kill anything with malicious intent rather than out of survival. Apocalypse Serpents have been known to take on many reptilian forms, from dragon to snake to giant angler of doom, but there are so few of them, that one would be actually lucky if their planet was blown to bits by one. There are actually said to only be 12 of them each living in a completely different location. They fear only one thing, the Amaranis Snails who are very accustom to eating dragons of all sizes.

Between the 3 monsters, there is a relationship similar to rock, paper, scissors. Amaranis Snails are strong against Apocalypse Serpents who are strong against Armageddon Squids who are strong against Amaranis Snails.

Genocides:

The Genocides, which appear late in the Xynthica Saga are genetically engineered monsters that are specifically created with full offensive capabilities in mind and are often designed to combine a low class source with an artificially enhanced source. Doing so often limits their ability to draw from their source for super natural abilities, but it gives them tremendous physical attack power and the ability to survive just about any given environment, as well as they makes them so that they can absorb a ridiculous amount of damage before they die, along with the ability to resist source basd attacks to a high degree. They become quite the serious problem later on, but Xynthica and Kibsy often think about them as free meals.

Weapons:

Like any sane people in world filled with things that happen to like to kill things to pass the time, the key players of the Xyniverse all have their special weapons that they like to carry wherever they go, just incase something goes wrong, which it frequently does.

Xynthica's Weapons:

Amaranis Snail Blade: Often known as the Snail Blade because of it's unique curved and rippled blade, the Amaranis Blade, although small and silly looking it is impossible to break and very strong. It's unique ability also gave it the name "The Desecrator" as it has the ability to easily break "Legendary Objects" or things enchanted by magic. This ability alone scares the crap out of Xyni's opponents who have fallen in love with their mystical legendary weapons and would rather die than see them snap in half. Unfortunately, the Snail Blade has a specific weakness, it is not particularly good at killing living things (It can do it, it just tends to take repeated blows), although it has a field day on armor and buildings. Despite it's limits, the Snail Blade is Xynthica's favorite weapon.

Omnicide: Obtained much later, the Omnicide is a weapon without form. In utilizing the Omnicide, surrounding energy is drawn and absorbed to form any given shape for a weapon. Depending on the type of energy absorbed, the power can vary. Traditionally, the Omnicide has been most often used as a ridiculously large sword of energy, but has also been known to be frequently known to divide on impact and force countless blades of energy that attack it's target. Omnicide is actually an Extension from the Source of Destruction, so it's use is limited to Xynthica, but it is a very powerful weapon.

Arsenal: A counter weapon to Omnicide, Arsenal extracts raw materials and metal to form it's body. The stronger the materials around to absorb, the more effective the weapon. Like Omnicide, it can gather resources in an instant. Arsenal has a more established form than Omnicide. A combination between a spear and an umbrella, the main form of Arsenal is often used to impale an opponent, then to expand open like an umbrella and rip it's victim apart with shrapnel like talons. Typically, Omnicide and Arsenal are a bit over kill in the violence department for Xyni, so she only uses them for serious battles. Arsenal happens to be an Extension for the Source of Creation as well. It should be noted that although Arsenal is primarily used for offense, it can also be used from anything from making a shield to building a house. On some known occasions, Xynthica has let Arsenal take on the appearance of a frying pan, and as most of us know, there are only two things that most people would conventionally use a frying pan for. Fortunately, crushing and cooking works pretty well when Xyni's on the run.

Zephos' Four Swords:

Zephos always carries his four "legendary" swords around with them, but they are more less dysfunctional in one way or another. They are as follow:

Khilia: Zephos' favorite weapon, sometimes called Kilometer instead of Khilia. Originally designed to be used by a giant robot, it is a huge weapon that emits and energy blade about long enough to slice anything within a kilometer. The only problem with this weapon is that it runs on little batteries that tend to run out at the most inconvenient time. The sword looks very cool by the way.

Hara Blade: A sentient sword, Hara is actually a heavy ballistic projectile weapon in the disguise of a sword. When in use, it actually opens up to fire in rapid succession solid armor piercing projectiles that have controllable trajectories. Hara can also be used as it's intended sword appearance, but why bother when you can shoot things?

Kiri Blade: Another sentient sword with a body of liquid metal, this blade can reach, stretch and impale anything thing. Often, parts of the blade can become detached and attack independently in mid air, before returning to the origin of the blade. It is said that the concept of this weapon is based on the "Meow Mitt" that the cat girl Kiri, who possesses the sword used.

BAKA Blade: One of Zephos' most fearsome blades, not because of it's power, but because of how it looks. BAKA is short for Big Ass Kitchen Appliance, and as you can guess, it is a HUGE kitchen knife, the type that little dolls are famous for murdering people with. Zephos lends the weapon to Xyni at times, but it is so huge that Xyni often falls over when she tries to swing it.

Gity's Weapons:

First Line: Gity dabbled more so in technology more so than anyone before Xyni ever did, so as a result, she invented two high power weapons. The First Line is a ballistic weapon, shaped like a long range rifle that shoots explosive projectiles with variable ammo. Utilizing technology similar to that that railguns use, the true beauty of the weapon wasn't so much as the gun, but rather the ammo. The First Line has been known to shoot out bullets infused with source powers, and as such, it can become a very effective weapon if the ammo is choosen wisely for the situation.

Last Word: The Last Word, appropriately named because the sound of it's blastiis often the last thing anyone standing in it's general direction hears,, is an extremely over the top energy cannon that can wipe out a clear line across a galaxy or two. Strangely enough, it seems that Gity's natural offensive capabilities were actually more powerful than her weapons, so she rarely used the Last Word or the First Line, but since these weapons are technology based, there may be a chance that someone else will get the chance to make use of them in the future.

Virgin Sliver: Gity's melee weapon, it is basically an invisible sword that only is visible if it draws blood from a mortal blow. Another weapon that doesn't seem to match Gity's level of power. Why use a puny sword when she can just grab someone's head and make it implode instead?

Key Chain of Doom: Another of Gity's weapons, it is a ring with multiple elemental blades on it used to shred enemies to bits. It has a formal name, but it's nickname is so popular, why bother?

The Treasures of Meow

The Treasures of Meow, as their name so implies, are three powerful cat themed weapons, each with a unique ability.

Meow Mitten: A cat like claw that projects long strands of liquid metal to attack. Used by Kiri the cat girl.

Meow Stick: A staff with a claw on the end that can detach and be used as a projectile or a grappling hook

Meow Blade: A blade that has a claw shaped blade on it's end. Can emit sonic blasts that sound like meows that incapacitate foes.

Evolution Weapons:

Along with Xynthica's ability to execute and Evolution, she usually materializes a new weapon for use in that form.

Surreality Render: A weapon wielded by Xynthica's Evolution, Creator. Although it might look like a weird shaped giant sword, it is in fact, really a tool for creation that can be used by drawing a glowing line on a surface or even in mid air in a fluid, dancing like motion. After the drawing is complete, it can be materialized. Although materializing objects in the Xyniverse is no big deal, the Reality Render has one special extra feature, the beings it materializes are cartoony and are incapable of being destroyed or dying, as long as energy is allocated to them, they also have an exaggerated level of power typical of cartoons. The Reality Render also exceeds the levels of reality, and anything that can be seen in imagination can be materialized.

Vertigo: The serrated sword wield by Izalon, it is a dimensional sword that can be normally used to cut rifts in matter and reality. It seems to be an extremely effective weapon against machines.

Horizon: The firearm used by Izalon, it is actually a heavy duty chain gun but also has a laser feature for more accurate fire. Ironically, it seems that the laser can also be used with hostile intent and double as an energy cutter, so that on occasions, it can kill before even a single bullet is fired.

Absolute Inferno: The twin blades wielded by Yucia. One is a blade of cold below absolute zero that inflicts heavy freezing damage on contact. The second blade is one of extreme heat, actually going into the trillions of degrees as it would seem and can reduce anything or anyone into smoldering ash. The blades actually don't have an actual form, but are actually very disciplined concentrations or vacuums of energy controlled by Yucia.

Loppy: Shi's main weapon, it is a giant sentient scythe with the power to cause extreme harm to beings without material bodies. The scythe is surprisingly well mannered, and can fly off on it's own to attack while Shi has other things to do.

Choppy: A giant butcher's meat clever that has killed countless people before the creation of the Xyniverse, Choppy is a frightening weapon. Although Loppy is a weapon designed to kill spirits, Choppy is clearly made to send living people to the afterlife.

Slit: An Exacto Knife from Walmart. It was on sale, so Shi bought it. Subtlely to moderately useful for arts and crafts.

Nano Cloth: Able to be upgraded to Pico Cloth if it consumes enough, the Nano Cloth is a high resolution scarf like weapon that is attached to the arms of Xynthica's Evolution Fusion. Able to take form and consume raw materials to expand itself, it can be used to form anything from spike like structures to shields, but it's true power usually comes from engulfing people whole.

Harvest Moon: A scythe like weapon used by the plant oriented Lyree. Instead of being used to harvest wheat and grains, it is used to harvest the lives of anything that breathes air. Lyree also has the ability to empower the weapon so that it can be enwrapped in vines and obtain extra range.

Oar of Doom: A modest weapon, the Oar of Doom, for a lack of a better name, is a double sided Halberd wielded by Yushi. It's not often used for combat as much as for hunting, particularly in the area of fishing.

Bone Nunchaku: A martial arts related blunt weapon utilizing the two large femurs and a chain. It's a pretty ordinary weapon, but it's not often in the Xyniverse that blunt weapons are used compared to the sharp pointy variety.

Other Weapons:

Mint and Maya: Two bladed attack rings used by Chymie, they are constantly in motion during an attack, often utilized in a whirling pattern. They also seem to possess the ability to be thrown with deadly accuracy and return like a boomerang.

Word Swords: The "weapon" used by Kiri. In actuality, due to Kiri's religious belief against using bladed objects, the Word Swords are really nothing more than whooping paddles with the ability for every word in the dictionary to be written on them. Although not a powerful weapon, it is a very humiliating weapon to be beaten into a bloody pulp with.

Vehicles

In the Xyniverse, there are two legendary small attack ships. Since technology in the Xyniverse is still a long ways off, and labor is far from plenty,, super warships aren't very common, but the small ships are works of art.

Small Space Vessels

Finny: A bit of a psychotic ship with an equally deranged, yet cute AI, Finny is a full powered melee assault shop. Yes, you heard that right, it's a melee assault ship. Armed with virtually nothing but it's own thick armor and the ridiculously powerful Omnidrive, the Finny's main form of attack is to ram the bloody hell out of anything that gets in it's way, and it does a terrific job of it. Later on, the Finny is outfitted with an attack arm and a hacking system that can steal weapons, data and other parts of ships and assimilate it for itself.

Rae: Armed with Gity's two cannons, First Line and Last Word, Rae is a small ship armed with some serious long distance whoopassity. Along with it's powerful long ranged weapons, Rae can also allocate powerful one drones that can circulate the ship and attack anything that gets close to it like a swarm. Rae is also equipped with the ability to warp in and warp out at will, and moves in a very awkward pattern. Instead of a straight line, it just kind of jumps in and out towards it's target. It is rumored that at the Finny and the Rae might actually be able to combine, but seeing as how the two AIs of them are arch enemies, such an event would be quite difficult.

Xyni's Powers

Although Xynthica starts the game off on a very wrong foot, not having a source and all, she eventually learns to embrace the power of her weaknesses. That is until she inevitably screws up of course.

Xynthica's Technological Powers:

At beginning of the the establishment of the Xyniverse, technology was an extremely scarce thing. Due to the powers that possessing a source granted upon those who managed to survive the collapse of the old world into the new world gained, technological evolution was slow to nonexistent. As usual, there were a few remnants of lost technology from the universe before the Xyniverse, but technology had the slight side effect of conflicting with the powers of source. Even something like wearing headphones, or having a a mechanical weapon around you that utilized more than three moving parts could often greatly reduce a sourcer's power. This is because all things are made up in the Xyniverse are made of source, but inanimate matter possesses an extremely diluted "Sub Class Source", which severely restricts the ability for a sourcer to draw and conduct power from their innate source. The more parts a machine has, the more different types of diluted source it has, as such even something as simple as a toaster oven can easily neutralize the powers of a fifth class source user.

Originally, since Xyni doesn't have a source, she turned to technology, which was a highly unexplored field at the time. However, to Xyni, rather than logical, technology development was intuitional. So basically, she created things without knowing the science behind it. Her favorite abilities usually involved liquid metal or nano machines in combination with holographic technology, but of course, she also occasionally dabbled in extremely large, deadly robots. Xynthica's early trademark ability however were her traps.

Xyni utilized a small metal sphere called "Alias", which was programmed to have the ability to take on the appearance of an older version of Xyni. This was intentional, as she never thought she'd ever live long enough to reach her teenage years, since the lack of a source severely limits one's life span, to say the least. Alias is basically Xynthica's "All Purpose Utility Device", from getting dressed in the morning to laying traps, Alias was always there for her and one of her best friends, but between the lines of code that she is composed of, existed an entity that wanted more than just to be someone's creation.

Xynthica's traps are reminiscent of Rube Goldberg machines, and either extend out of floors, walls or the ceiling and are frequently hilarious, as she can frequently turn ordinary objects into implements of destruction in grandiose chain reaction fashion. Using Alias to plant the traps in real time, Xyni's strategy usually involved distracting and luring her opponents into traps. For the most part, it was an effective solution against low class sourcers, but it had extreme limits when in one on one combat, as a result, Xyni never actually "fights" much. It also seems that Xynthica was able to combine with Alias later on, an effect referred vaguely to as "System".

Unfortunately, having been betrayed by a Alias, Xyni was critically injured and lost all of her research. At that point in Xynthica's life, her and dreams and will were shattered, and she abandoned her exclusive specialty in technology.

Xynthica's Reborn Powers:

It is around this time in the Xynthica when she decides to take life less seriously and enjoy it for the ugly and beautiful wonder that it is. Instead of wanting to change the world, like she had dreamed of as a child, Xynthica now wanted to change herself first. Whether it was that train of thought or the coming of age, Xyni at twelve developed her true power.

As it turns out, Xynthica has the powers to completely ignore the little thing we like to call "Reality" if she believes she can strongly enough. Hence the reason that she was able to live so long without a source on will alone. Due to the fact that Xyni was dominated by the regime of society previously, she was never able to realize this power, but it is when she decided to take the her life into her own hands that she developed it. Unfortunately, like all things Xyni... this new power is somewhat defective.

Xynthica is able to create, destroy and control and even absorb source itself, a commonly believed to be impossible factor of reality. Quite often, you will see big glowing spheres of various colors orbiting around Xyni on any given occasion, these are known as "Source Seeds", and are basically a solidified, portable, and highly digestible embodiments of source, which normally has no form. These usually are always around Xyni for when she needs them, and only she can see them. Utilizing Source Seeds, Xynthica has four main powers:

Extension: Using source that she created or absorbed, Xynthica can develop new powers, characteristics and body parts, such as a pair of cute little bunny ears, the velvety paws of a young kitten, the mesmerizing wings of a graceful humming bird, or a big ass man eating tail. As she grows in power and practice, she can increase the number of Extensions she can maintain at any given time. The plus side to the Extensions is that there is no personality altering side effect, but there may be extreme cases where the Extensions alone wouldn't cut it.

Evolution: Before creating any source suited for her use as an Extension, Xynthica has to experience it as an "Evolution". Evolutions are when Xynthica completely takes in the characteristics of a source and combines them with her body as a whole. By doing this procedure, Xynthica becomes an entirely different person, albeit still retaining memories of who she is.

Evolutions are extremely powerful, Xynthica can even match the powers of first or second class sourcers if she performs an Evolution using a high level source. Then there are the side effects... ho boy, are there ever. The Evolutions have the extremely negative effect of usually giving Xynthica some psychotic trait or another, like the tendency to eat everything in sight, the ability to inflict extremely horrible luck on anyone she crosses the path of, the desire to kill anything she sees that isn't a plant or a mineral, or even a severe desire to want to make out with anything that moves. Many of the fun stories in the Xynthica Saga are about Xynthica's many experiences living through days like these... yes, these painful and frequently embarrassing days. After gaining a great deal of experience, Xynthica has been known to be able to shift Evolutions multiple times in battle, in some cases, multiple times in under a minute, all while in active combat. Evolutions are often abbreviated as Evi

Revolution: Largely undeveloped in the first three Xynthica episodes so far. Revolution is Xynthica's ability to change form all together to morph into, oh, let's say a giant feminine snail about the size of a small moon Unlike the Evolutions though, Revolutions rely on more than just possessing the right source. They also rely on knowing perfectly how sources interact to form existence, or nonexistence for that matter. There seems to be a hidden factor though in Revolutions. The stronger other people believe in Xynthica, the more powerful her revolutions will be. Revolutions have the potential to become stronger than Evolutions and Extensions, but it is a power that Xyni still hasn't fully discovered yet. Revolutions have been shortened to Revi in some cases, but since they are infrequent, the term is rarely used.

Resolution: Potentially Xynthica's most versatile and useful ability, which of course means that it's disaster incarnate in the twentieth power the vast majority of the time. Xynthica has the ability to make petite versions of herself from the various source seeds that she has absorbed. As Xynthica's power grows, the the amount of Resolutions she can use simultaneously increases, but under normal circumstances, she will usually only have one or two at any given time. The Resolutions take on the power of the source seed they are based on, and can attack independently. Although the Resolutions are a separate entities, they don't have wills of their own like the Evolutions, however, in order to use a Resolution, Xynthica has to split off a part of her character, which then becomes the personality of the Resolution. As a result of this, Resolutions might have some pretty extreme personalities, since they are isolated characteristics of Xyni. You might get a gluttonous version of Xyni for a Resolution, that likes to eat anything in her way, or a love struck Resolution who thinks nothing except about boys all day, and under really unlucky circumstances, you'll have Xynthica's slightly violent side in compact form, which will of course, proceed to unleash all of Xyni's pent up frustration at anyone in the general area. A horrible side effect of course of using Resolutions, that Xyni herself loses parts of her personality with each divide. If all of her personality is used to create Resolutions, Xynthica vanishes until the Resolutions return to source seed form. Resolutions are often abbreviated as Rezi.

Xynthica's Almost Random, Completely Indiscriminate Power of Doom And Other Nasty Stuff

Due to a lack of a better name to explain in, Xyni's normal self possesses a very screwy, unreliable, frequently disastrous ability, and wouldn't you have guessed that it reflects her wishy washy ways perfectly?

Xyni's eyes change color accordingly to her emotions and mood. The change however, only takes place when she blinks. In most situations, this trait is at a disadvantage, because people can read Xyni's feelings no matter how hard she tries to hide them as long as they look at her eyes. The ability however, can be controlled to a certain degree by not blinking, which retains the last color that her eyes were, of course, it starts to hurt after a while. The following colors and the corresponding emotions follow.

Pink: Happy
Light Blue: Sad
Yellow: Afraid/Uncertain
Green: Jealous
Red: Angry
Deep Blue: Desperate/Worry for another
Purple: Confused/Deep In Thought/Guilt
Orange/Brown: Craving Something or excited
Black: Malicious
Gray: Indifferent
White: Benevolent
Prism: Unknown

It is also frequently possible for Xyni's eye color to be out of alignment, that is, one eye is pink, one eye is blue. This is a result of mixed emotions. Xyni doesn't like this, and it is often painful for her to correct, as she has to keep blinking to get the colors back in alignment. Xyni's eyes also vary in saturation, that is the stronger the color, the stronger the emotion. Of all of the colors, prism and black are probably the rarest color to show up in Xyni's eyes, while pink is the most common, almost her default eye color.

As it is, each of Xyni's different extreme emotions grants her a particular uncontrollable source altering ability for as long as the emotion is in effect, that's for the most part completely indiscriminating. These powers are consistent and act independently, which can either lead to complete chaos or some nifty little benefits. Coincidentally, it is also possible for Xyni to combine multiple emotional powers at the same time, usually two. In theory though, she can exceed this amount.

Pink: Xyni subconsciously controls variables in the environment, including source at a subatomic which causes completely unrelated things to come together to form a much greater event. There is one unfortunate consequence of this, and that is it happens the to have the slight side effect of ruining the lives of everyone around her. Great for lotteries and when you need a meteor the size of your hometown to land on an enemy out of the blue, not so good if you are trying to make friends.

Light Blue: Xyni subconsciously alters her environment as to cause herself extremely bad luck, but at the same time, grants everyone around her gets incredibly good luck. Unfortunately, Xyni's friends know this, and try to torture her quite frequently in hopes of fortune.

Yellow: Causes beings of positive source to become hostile towards Xyni, but causes beings of a negative source to become attracted and like her. This typically causes little critters like forest animals to attack Xyni in swarms, not a good thing, but then again, she befriends huge dragons pretty easily, and it works wonders at job interviews. It is possible for Xyni to have such an established relationship with an entity though that this does not effect them.

Green: Causes beings of a negative source to become hostile towards Xyni, but causes positive beings to like her more. On one hand, cute little animal critters and bunnies will love her, but on the other hand big huge demons of mass destruction wouldn't think so fondly. Once again, a strong established relationship between Xyni and given entity can with stand this power... most of the time at least.

Red: Source enhancement ability, causes the laws of reality to warp so source based abilities become multiple times stronger, to such a degree that it can be ridiculous at times at it's extremes. This works for every one in the area of effect, so on one hand, although Xyni and her ally' abilities increase, so do her enemy's. Since various parts of nature also operate on Source, like time and slightly destructive things like... oh meteors, you can also expect this things to start causing some chaos of their own under this state.

Deep Blue: Source neutralization ability, completely stops all active source based activity in the area regardless of power (It actually works inversely to power, so that the big things are neutralized first). If combined with Red, it can discriminate between friends and foes and allow Xyni and her allies to use abilities while her enemies are powerless. However, to achieve such a point where both emotions are equally at their strongest is very difficult. Deep Blue also has a very potentially destructive extreme effect, that is called a "Fold Back". It's basically the reality equivalent of having your computer crash, generally not a good thing. This is often why Deep Blue has to be balanced with Red at it's extremes and the worst case scenario of it the two are unaligned.

Purple: Immunity to death to put it on way or anther. When this power is activated, everyone around Xyni practically becomes invincible. Xyni however becomes very weak and tired during the process, often craving naps.

Orange: This power is hyper mortality, all those around Xyni except those with strong sources start dropping dead like flies. Beings with strong sources just become tired and weak easily. On the flip side, Xyni becomes pretty much indestructible, although her base offensive ability remains the same.

Black: Vastly increases the nature and power of those with negative sources while weakening those with positive sources. With a power like this, it's little wonder why any world dominating megalomaniac would want Xyni at their side. Unfortunately, Xyni is practically never malicious, so good luck activating this.

Gray: Reverses the source types of those around her, resulting in a surprising amount of chaos. It can also reverse source powers in play so that a offensive spell becomes a healing spell and so on.

White: Vastly increases the nature and power of those with positive sources while weakening those with negative sources. Xyni's a friendly person, so you'd think this power would come up pretty often, unfortunately, Xyni's best friends rank somewhere among the lines of "Evil Incarnate" so as a result, she's often discouraged from retaining the benevolence of a saint by her friends.

Prism: The ultimate color, it is unknown exactly what emotion might trigger this, although if you do the process of elimination, it's not too hard to figure out what it might be. The Prism color is bloody insane, it allows Xyni to actually obtain complete control over all of the previous mentioned power's positive and negative effects at her will. Prism also has an additional added bonus.

Other Semi-Random Powers:

Since Xynthica apparently seems to ignore reality, she has a number of other useless odd ball factors about her. For example, although her hair is blue colored to most onlookers, in actuality, it is prismatic, but this color can only be seen when a person is on the verge of death. Another mysterious factor about Xyni, is that since she doesn't have a source of her own, she has to actively perceive the concept of time. If she is accidentally knocked unconscious, her existence can blink and out of time randomly. Xyni also has a tendency to collect weird things, like caltrops, but that's more of a personality quirk than a power. Oh yeah, Xyni also naturally has the habit of loving to eat, unfortunately, her mouth isn't too big, so she usually just gnaws her way through any given object or monster. There doesn't seem to be a limit to what Xyni can eat, but it seems she has a strict preference for extremely fresh food, and by fresh, I mean still alive and bigger the size of her head. Also Xynthica has many powers, they are usually unstable, so it isn't often that she complete relies on them, rather, she frequently places her trust in her friends and those she believes in, like her trusty snail killer mutant snail Kibsy.
