Personal

This is the page for everything about me, except for my work. Which is kinda' odd given the context of this site, but any how...

That's what that weird stringy thing to the right is for. It was suppose to be a traffic light, on some planet anyway, but something got lost in the translation.

Well, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out...

Okay then, if you are not taking that route, feel free a bit about my person life down there and follow the monomaze thingie in yellow...

If I had any common sense, I would have listed the basic question before giving the answer, but nope, that would have made too much sense, so instead I decided to just omit the questions and give the answer in hopes that your hand would find it's way to the back button with the grace and speed of a goose shaped golf club... in the spring time of course...

This is me...
Except I usually wear cloths and have a bit more hair.

Merritt "Zephos" Wong

Yeah, that's my name... the "Merritt" part is never spelt right by other people, and I got teased about it a lot in elementary school, with good reason too. The "Zephos" bit has been my artist name for a long time, after using it a long time ago for video game personas since my brother bestowed it upon me more than 10 years ago. Now, the "Wong" part of my name is pretty interesting. fourteen pages of family names in the Vancouver phonebook have it, and it's really handy for disguising your name in plain sight without having to pay extra money

I love the rain, it gives me all the excuses
I need to not go out and play

July 13, 1983

Yup, that's when I was born, or so I'm told. Nothing too special to say here. Although slightly related, I have no clue what my blood type is, and my horoscope almost never fits me...and I wish there was a cute bunny rabbit on the zodiac somewhere... but alas, the ancients did not have sufficient drugs to see that in the night sky. Too bad, I got a crab and a pig instead.

I save this routine for special occasions when people spell my name wrong...

Goldfish crackers have learned to fear me... The smart ones at least... the rest kinda' swim in a line to their death.
This is me displaying my excellent sense of direction in action.

British Columbia, Canada

Ah, my home province. I have only good experiences living here, and not much else anywhere else. I currently live in Vancouver, also somewhat known as Rainy City, but unfortunately, it's still not rainy enough for me. Mr. Sunshine is my archenemy. He stalks me every single minute of the day and only gives up at night.

Hot Pink and Cool Blue!!

When I was doing my story board for my final film in Vancouver Film School, I used pink pencil for the entire board, which drove a lot of people insane. Being a guy, I find it rather odd that I tend to use an abundance of pink and light blue in my work... but those are Xyni's colors, so I think I've gotten used to them... the same way one can becomes used to swimming with beached whales...

Sometimes, the wind tells me that I should eat something tasty... usually on the verge of starvation...

Goldfish!

Oh! I'm a big fan of food! Surprisingly that I don't eat more... Despite my love for roast beef, salmon sashimi, tuna in a can, shark fin sou, and rice noodles, my absolute favorite food in the universe is none other than Pepperidge Goldfish crackers! They go perfectly well with all the previously mentioned foods above, and they can either be eaten as a snack or in a full meal! One of my greatest delights is to draw with a full bowl of them on the side, and munch and draw at the same time. One of the reasons I wish I lived in the USA is because they have a much larger variety of Goldfish crackers! If I ever move to the USA, the second thing I do upon arriving will be to buy all of the different varieties, take them home, and curl up into a little ball with them and fall asleep.

Otaku Set B!

Aha, you read it right, Otaku Set B... this choice is made under the premise that all people who play video games, watch anime and read manga have the tendency to play video games, watch anime and read manga when they aren't doing the previously mentioned, then repeat. Honestly, have you ever seen a person who liked anime who doesn't play video games? Is it even theoretically possible? No... and that's why we have Otaku Set B...

Well, I like eating... and sleeping... but Otaku Set B takes up so much of my time and energy, that I often forget about them.

Then again... I'm usually so busy with my work that I enjoy so much that I ironically forget about Otaku Set B...

Of course, there are a lot of other things I do, but when you see a giraffe, you remember the fact that it has a long neck and is yellow, not the fact that it has four legs and is a mammal.

Princess Maker

Princess Maker... silly name, seriously good game series. Sounds like a corny Disney game you get with a box of cereal for girls, but don't disrespect this game till you play it. There are as few things as rewarding as raising your daughter to be an S & M Queen... then getting hate mail from her for being such a horrible father... just like real life!

Azumanga Daioh!

Azumanga Daioh... One of the few anime I have seen that is actually better than the manga... love the characters, love the humor, could write a poem about it here, but I wouldn't. There are also a lot of other series I like... if you know anything about Princess Maker mentioned above, you might know that Puchi Puri Yuushi is an anime loosely based on it. Love the intro, super kawaii, lovable characteres... I'm a happy customer, there ya' go. I also like Popotan and Puni Puni Poemy... I like anime with lot's of "P"s in the name... apparently...

Ah, the infamous Otaku Set B...
Can't say that I'm a real Otaku though, I'm too busy for that.

I work much better when I'm not distracted by music that I can actually understand.

I love my TV, all two channels of it...

High Pitch Hell!!

I have admittedly horrible taste in music... that being said.. I love high pitched female singers belting their hearts out over a catchy melody running at some thousand or so beats per minute that would make a good number of North American's heads explode... I tend to turn to J-Pop for a vast majority of the supply...not hard to see why. I am particularly fond of Round House: Featuring Nino, Funta, Under 17 and Kotoko as they make consistently good tunes and have very cute voices. Too bad regarding Under 17 though, I heard they broke up, but basically, there are two types of people when it comes to their music, the type that bob their heads in unison and sing along, and those that can't get the image of a gang of squirrels raping a pregnant elephant. I personally love their music, whacked out lyrics and all, and I think their song "Love Slave" deserves special credit for being the most evil anime song ever created.

Chances are that if I knew what they J-Pop singers were saying, I'd be too embarrassed to ever listen to them again... all that singing about love, love, rainbows, cute things, the power of destiny and friendship, oh, and more love, can make a guy go fruity over time. If I were to ever make an anime with a cute high pitched opening theme song, it's gonna' have the most messed up, obscene, bastardized lyrics you could ever imagine, yes, even more so than Love Slave.

World Domination!

They say it's a bit of a jinx to say your dream outloud... so I'll just settle for my secondary goal... World Domination! Honestly, I have no idea what to do once the world belongs to me... but "Ruler of the World" sounds mighty impressive on a resume, so It should help me get a good job... actually, maybe not... probably not... definitely not, I'd probably just get my mail box filled with flame.

Zephos: Hello, anybody need the services of a young, enthusiastic, yet inexperienced artist down there?
